some of you may or may not know - i have a degree in teaching (Special and Regular Education) - so i have a fondness for chalkboards - i even painted my office's 1 wall with chalkboard paint - so i wanted to see how else people use a chalkboard for inspiration .. (make sure you entered the give-away)
here's what i found:
this was an old door - repurposed - LUVS!
the chairs got me here :o)
what a perfect lil office space, right? - another door repurposed!
what kid wouldn't love this?! - loven' all the elephants in the decor
traditional kitchen uses a chalkboard backsplash - LUVS!
lil chalkboard paint make old furniture come alive!
what a great way to resurface your kitchen cabinets!
again, tired ole globe can be painted and funk-a-fied!

ReplyDeleteI actually do have two chalkboard's in our house, one in the kitchen that says "Life is Beautiful" On right now. My husband wrote it:) And one in the boys room, they have a chalk art table.

ReplyDeleteI can't stand the sound of chalk squeaking on chalkboards but apart from that, great idea, I love the "dog" one in the kitchen!
Every time I see a chalkboard I think of nails screeching down on one and that chalky feeling on your hands after writing on it so I'm not very fond of them : ( If I could get over that shuddering feeling these would be lovely in my home!

ReplyDeleteI love the globe chalkboard! I teach a seminar group once a week so I get to use chalkboards on a semi-regular basis...I kind of love them, although I typically wear dark colors and I've smeared myself with chalk pretty good on many occasions.

When I have a permanent space, I thought I'd paint the space between the counter and the cabinets (in the kitchen) with chalkboard paint. Then you can write recipes and lovely little messages there.

This is so great, and yes I have chalkboard in my life. I painted the wall below our kitchen bar in chalkboard b/c feet and food kept really bad looking most of the time. The chalkboard paint looks great and is user friendly. A perfect spot for the activity as well. It's fun to draw pictures and write things according to what is going on.
