It's a circus out there

i am the hugest fan of Cirque du Soleil ! ! . . I've been to a number of shows in Las Vegas, New York, and New Jersey . . whenever my boyfriend (Joe) or I see/hear a show coming to town, we get flooded inbox's from friends and family letting us know, which we usually replay "thank you, we got our tickets already" .. So far in 2010 we've seen Wintuk, and have tickets for Banana Shpeel and Ovo . . We're going on our 10th show give or take . . we've always had grand seats as well, and for the most part the shows are small and intmate . . Here's a look at a few of the shows and a small description . .

Here's the stage of La Reve .. it's an extrodany show - based on the Picasso drawing that casino owner Steve Wynn owns.  Love and lust crawl and swim across the stage and the giant tree in the middle of the pool.  Truely a specatacular show and can only been seen at the Wynn in Las Vegas!

KOOZA . . An adrenaline rush of acrobatics in a zany kingdom . . KOOZA tells the story of The Innocent, a melancholy loner in search of his place in the world . . Between strength and fragility, laughter and smiles, turmoil and harmony, KOOZA explores themes of fear, identity, recognition and power. The show is set in an electrifying and exotic visual world full of surprises, thrills, chills, audacity and total involvement.

Mystère . . by far my VERY favorite!!! .. hysterical and all eye candy! .. Mystère is classic Cirque du Soleil, combining the powerful athleticism, high-energy acrobatics and inspiring imagery that has become the company's hallmark. Deemed a theatrical "flower in the desert," Mystère thrills generations of audiences with its exhilarating blend of whimsy, drama and the unimaginable brought to life on stage. Presented exclusively at Treasure Island, Mystère provides the ultimate discovery that life itself is a mystery.

Alegria . . Alegría is a mood, a state of mind. The themes of the show, whose name means "jubilation" in Spanish, are many. Power and the handing down of power over time, the evolution from ancient monarchies to modern democracies, old age, youth—it is against this backdrop that the characters of Alegría play out their lives. Kings' fools, minstrels, beggars, old aristocrats and children make up its universe, along with the clowns, who alone are able to resist the passing of time and the social transformations that accompany it.

Banana Shpeel . . Banana Shpeel is a roller-coaster mix of performance styles inspired by vaudeville that blends comedy with tap, hip hop, eccentric dance and slapstick, all linked by a hilarious narrative that ignites a succession of wacky adventures. This is not circus, or a musical or a variety show, or even vaudeville. It is Banana Shpeel!

OVO . . OVO is a headlong rush into a colourful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement. The insects' home is a world of biodiversity and beauty filled with noisy action and moments of quiet emotion.

 

LOVE . . LOVE is the latest Cirque du Soleil production which celebrates the musical legacy of The Beatles. Drawn from the poetry of the lyrics, LOVE explores the content of the songs in a series of scenes inhabited by real and imaginary people. The international cast of 60 channels a raw, youthful energy underscored by aerial performance, extreme sports and urban, freestyle dance.

 

So there you have a little taste of Cirque - it's all about extasy for your senses - i'm 100000% hooked on the shows ! ! ! Like i said Joe and I go to EVERY show that comes to town and if were in Vegas you know where we'll be @ night - A CIRQUE SHOW ! ! !
