Bits and Pieces

so i had no blog ready for today (with recent circumstances, it's been *blah* to say the least) - so i through this together - things i'm looking to purchase for my house!
check out this HORSE i found in HomeGoods - i'm DYING to buy it!
i dunno where in the world i'd put him - but i WANT him
only problem - how do i get him home?!
(yes, it's a him, but i haven't named him just yet!)

here's the sectional i'm probably going to end up buying!
like i said - it's not LOVE - but it's a lot of LIKE
i think it'll go perfectly in my home - and SO comfy!

here's my TV - all picked out - just a matter of hitting "send" and buying it!
it'll JUST fit on the wall i want to put it on
here are 2 possible bar stools i'm going to go with for my kitchen island
i'm still unsure what i wanna do with them
leather vs acrylic
i have no 'set' idea on bar stools yet :o/

My Life:
what a crap of a day yesterday became - i hate turning this blog into a *boohoo* fest for me - so NOT its purpose! - to catch you all up - the first week of December my Mom needs to get a mastectomy (breast removed) - during the surgery they will check to see if her lymph nodes have been infected and if the cancer has spread :o(

i swear a month ago i was ON TOP of the world - now - not so much!  - *blah* - i know everything will be 10000% perfect - good things always work out for good people! - even though i bought my Dad munchkins from Dunkin' Donuts as a surprise - as i'm bringing them into the house - PLOP - all fell on the ground - in mud! (it's been raining here in NJ) .. go figure!

i just gotta be careful - these times in my life - i flush everyone i know out of it - i'm good at getting rid of all bad energies and starting fresh - i seem to have started the processes already - good and bad - and the right people have stepped up - so i figure the rest - *blah* to them - ya know?! - who needs *blah* in their life?!

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT CLEANING
OUT YOUR ARSENAL OF "FRIENDS" ?

  3. Oh dear Erika I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I'll say a prayer for her that the cancer hasn't spread. I wish her all the luck in the world with the surgery. I hope everything will be okay.

I'm currently flushing out the bad friends that are just not worth their time of day. A friend is there for you no matter what. Sometimes people forget that so there's the door.

These pieces are beautiful. I love the horse & the sectional. "The night is darkest before the dawn". is a quote that I say to myself all the time. There will be a sunrise & good things will come back.

Big *Cyber Hug* Erika to you & your mom. =)

  6. Hey there. This is my first visit to your blog. Sending you a really big hug, coz sometimes we just really need one. Praying that the surgery goes well for your mom and also also little prayer for you as you are processing everything with her. I don't know why it is so hard to let people be strong for us sometimes, but accept all the hugs you can along the way. I recon it's God's way of giving us the hugs we need just when we need them most ;) Hope your week just keeps getting better.

  7. So sorry things are not going well for you or your family. You have so much to offer. I hope things get better, even if only little by little. Cancer is a scary thing but it seems like you and your mom are both incredibly strong people.

  10. So sorry to hear about your mom. Your blog is suppose to be about your life and right now you need to make sure you get all your feelings out, so we are here to listen.
Friends- I guess I am not one to get rid of any. I take each one for how they are and if they are negative or backstabby I just keep my distance and sooner or later they part with me. I guess I am a little ..what do you call it? mmm passive agressive! yes thats it.
I love the couch where did you find it? I have been looking for one and it looks so comfy.

  11. I'm sending love and prayers to you and your family.

I think that sometimes you need to reevaluate friendships. In HS I was friends with these girls who always made me feel bad about myself. Eventually I learned that friends are supposed to make you feel better, not worse.

Good luck with the things in your life. We've all got battles we're fighting and I'm praying for you girl!

Sending all my love and lots and lots of positive energy!

  15. Hang in there, this too shall pass. Lots of prayers for your mom! And venting is always ok, that's what blogs are for. At least mine anyway, seems it has turned into a whine fest. I had to look at the picture twice, ok 3 times, before I saw the horse. I'm an idiot!! love the leather bar stool (more).

  16. Oh Erika. You are in my thoughts so much recently - your mom, too. Keep on keeping on girlfriend. I really want you to get that horse. I think you need it and just put it right in the midst of your living room or something. It has your name all over it and is super cool.

And re: cleaning out the friend arsenal - sadly I've had to do this more than once. It's times like these that really bring so many things to light.

    *hugs*

  18. Oh Erika...I wish I could hug you!
It's wonderful to be positive but sometimes you need a good cry and few days of blah to get all the gunk out and start fresh. This is alot to handle and you're dealing like a pro, truly an inspiration for us. It doesn't bother me to see a little boohoo-ing here, it's completely understandable and real. As for flushing friends, it just depends. I've realized that certain friends are good for certain things. The same one you call about a shoe sale might not be the one who's shoulder you cry on. Everyone 'helps' us in different ways. Don't be too quick to cut the blah ones but if they're really jerks...flush em!! hahaha *hugs* Praying for your family!

  28. I'm a little late in seeing this. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom! Hopefully all of the tests go well, and the cancer hasn't metastecized. I'll be thinking about you and your Mom! I've definitely had to clean house in the friend department. Most were necessary, one or two I could've been a little more forgiving. Time and space have made me realize my part in those situations.

    xoxo,
