Check out this church turned apartment in Utrecht; The Netherlands .. i'm loven' it - what do you think?!
i dunno bout you - but i LOVE this idea - i'm ALL about re-purpose-ing things!
reduce - reuse - recycle ... to the extreme!
the windows - look at the windows - AMAZING people, just amazing!
how about these floating stairs - divine, no? so modern and sleek
talk about a modern bathroom! - the chandelier is beyond fitting for the enviorment, no?
SO here's the question:
do you think living in a church would be creepy or awesome?
Oh thats beautiful! so modern and spacious!

Wow I've never seen anything like it! I like the way they've completely modernised it. They have some funny houses in the Netherlands - I once saw (and went inside) some cubic apartments in Rotterdam!
ReplyDeleteLiving in a church would be awesome! When my bro was looking for a house in Brooklyn, he actually looked at several old churches but they were so expensive and needed full renovations.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I agree with you - I'd live in a shack or tent if it meant living on the beach for the summer ;)
Have a lovely day!
xx
I love the space and the light, I think I might have taken more of the religious aspect away I find that could have made it hard to make it feel like it was my space. Daring contrasts to make the bathroom dark and the chandeliers are fantastic!
ReplyDeletehave a fab day!
Are you kidding me? THAT is a church?? Hello, did you see that chandelier??
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I could live in a church with a ginormous cross still on the wall - that would freak me out a bit, but the bathroom and the light is amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Kayleigh is doing better? I'm so glad to hear that - sick pups make my heart ache. (as I type, my 10 month puppy is snuggled up next to me)
Have a great Thursday lady! =)
Woa its so gorgeous I wouldn't even think it used to be a church!! If it looks that pretty it wouldn't matter that it used to be a church, its beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts will be with her (and you) that she get back to 100% ASAP. So glad she has someone who cares so much. =)
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing space. Love the organ! I would however feel like I couldn't indulge in any "activity" in the bedroom, God might be watching!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! Great images.

Wow! Well it's certainly beautiful. But I'd feel like I'd have to be on my best behavior at all times! ; ) And I'd be worried about an alter boy popping out of the closet and scaring the bejesus out of me ; )
ReplyDeleteWow sooo gorgeous xxx
ReplyDeleteOkay, this is SO fun! What a great idea, so great!

Delightful Bitefuls
I think it looks awesome! But I would always feel like I needed to be on my bestest behavior haha
ReplyDeleteWow, that's really gorgeous! Especially with that chandelier! I love it!

wow, what an amazing re-do. i'd definitely be a little creeped out living in a church though, no doubt about that.
ReplyDeletewhat an amazing renovation! i love that they painted it all white and kept some of the religious details intact. i don't know that i could live in a church but i definitely love seeing the before & afters! thank you always for your sweet comments and have a lovely thursday!
ReplyDeleteErika, very cool, I love what creative geniuses can do!
ReplyDeleteCome see what I put together for Catherine at The Shiny Pebble!

Wow it's so striking (though the cross at the door is a bit odd).
ReplyDeleteThe bathroom is also out of this world.
Have you ever been to the Limelight (or what used to be) club in NYC? That was actually weird to party in an old church.
p.s. I'm a Queens girl! My friend used to live in Staten Island and said there is a deli right across in NJ with the best pastrami sandwiches!
This is soo cool, I have never seen this before. What an amazing space. Though I must say it would be weird to live in an old church - somebody is watching you..... haha!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm having a religious experience!! So gorgeous!

Wow this place is amazing! So fun and creative!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! The floating stairs are amazing...I remember years ago when I visited Amsterdam, being amazed at how many churches and beautiful cathedrals were turned into art galleries and museums!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeletei don't think it would be creey, i think it would be great. but nobody lives in our churches...and they are most definitely not that nice haha
ReplyDeleteSO PRETTY
I love this idea. My husband and I have looked at buying church's in the past. While the decor they used doesn't work for me I agree that they've done a great job re-purposing a building rather than tearing it down.
ReplyDeleteAmazing and so different, I like it!

A PIECE OF PASSION
Wow, I've never seen anything like this before, but it's great! I love churches that look like this, so to live in one? I think pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. I love the idea! Very peaceful - I'd feel safe!

Very cool! Especially the floating stairs :) And I think it would be cool for like two weeks, but after that I wouldn't like it anymore I think, it would probably made me feel like people are watching over me always!

ReplyDeleteWow - that is stunning! The floating stairs are insanely cool! It would freak me out to live in most churches because they can be dark but this is so modern and open I would quickly forget!
ReplyDeletewow, looks great but have a kinda religious upbringing so i guess it would be kinda creepy living there for me! hehe but it looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be awesome! I am a Christian, so to me, it would be lovely... I do appreciate the care and design that they have incorporated into this place. I like it and am so happy you shared :)
ReplyDeletep.s thank you so much for all of your sweet comments!

ReplyDeleteConverted churches usually give me the creeps - but this one is breathtaking (in a good way)!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool space! I don't think I'd live in one though.... :)
ReplyDeleteI love when people turn commercial spaces into homes (churches, firehouses etc.) I don't think I could live a church though...it would make me feel like I couldn't do certain things in my house...ahhem if you know what I mean :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and being my 1st follower! I truly appreciate it. Love the Blog!!!! Keep the great posts coming.
