World Vision Handmade Necklace Giveaway

many of you know - i live in New Jersey and have many friends and family in the NJ/NY area - some lost their entire homes, everything they possess, people are still without any power, sleeping at night with weapons due to the looters - let's just say things look like a war zone at times - the devastation is more then i could ever put into words or describe - we all in this area have our own stories to tell about Hurricane Sandy for years to come (i still have yet to share mine on this blog)

on a positive note - World Vision contacted me - hallelujah - a site devoted to donations - check out their 'gift' catalog here - it's a website that lets you get the warm and fuzzy feeling about donating to a cause or simply for a tax deduction (no judgment) - did you know 60% of Americans say they will make a charitable donation between Thanksgiving and Christmas? - are you one of those?

The hardest part about donating is always figuring out 'who' and 'where' to donate - World Vision makes it effortless - they do the hard work - gifts are used where resources are most desperately needed, to help children and families in struggling communities around the world. - there are 36 Maximum Impact Items that can be given' to a loved one and at the same time help someone in need! - your gifts this year can do double duty work (now that's something to be thankful about, no?)

this handmade artisan beaded necklace ($60) made with an assortment of semi-precious stones and beads in a variety of colors and sizes - is being offered by World Vision to 1 lucky Tiptoe Butterfly follower - in hopes that this post and this necklace will spread the word on 'giving'! - i wear mine as a single strand and sometimes double strand it - i also have worn it as a bracelet - it's a necklace that's not going to let you down and will go with anything in your wardrobe! - and needless to say i feel very honored and proud when i wear mine, thank you World Vision for mine! (i hope you feel the same if you buy/win one)

little story about this necklace - Hurricane Sandy hit Sunday (Oct 29th) - somehow with all the happenings of the storm i got a package at my door - i was sitting in my cold house, with no lights, alone - but a package made its way to me - so i grabbed my flashlight made my way to the kitchen and opened the package - it was this necklace - this necklace actually gave me HOPE - it was that 'sign' i needed from the Universe to keep on going, that it's going to be OK - so this necklace actually holds special meaning to me - it was the 1 thing that went 'right' at that time - the 1 thing that put a smile on my face
