Open Up a Bit!

how do you feel about an "open floor plan"? ..
is it one of those must haves when looking for a place? ..
take a look @ these - lemme know what you think loves

don't you love how the door entry has those silver jeweled vases hanging?!

loven' the neutral of this room! - cowhide rug, hanging egg chair, exposed beams *sigh*

how grand, no?

you know i'm loven' the pink deer head (i hope it's fake!)

you've read on hear how i'm obsessed with the hanging ball chair, i've almost bought it about 5 times, i just don't know where to put it in my house - LOVE this indoor/outdoor space!

great use of space, no? - using under the stairs as a sitting area - not to mention the glass wall - LOVE!

anything catch your eye?
dig open/multi-purpose spaces?

i'm taking Kayleigh back to her cardiologist today for her 2 week check-up *fingers crossed* her lil heart is ok!
since her doctor is half way down the shore - i am then heading down the shore for the rest of the week/weekend .. just for a lil R&R .. meaning bumming it out, doing a lil shopping, eating lots of seafood and hanging by the pool, hitting the beach, and cruising/fishing/tubing on the boat ..

ENJOY the rest of your week/weekend loves!!!

  1. I love the idea of an open floor plan, especially in the small NY houses and apartments we have here. Otherwise you'd feel trapped.

Stay dry on this gloomy rainy day!

  3. That 3rd picture has me drooling a bit!! We have an open floor plan, it's great for entertaining... (people get so comfortable you can't get rid of them though) ha ha!
Also, if you are trying to watch a movie and someone is downstairs it can be difficult. I have learned to watch my movie elsewhere if the kids have friends!

I hope your doggy is o.k. xo

  5. Oh yes, a lot of things have caught my eye on this great post.
The first pic. is amazing. I love the roof and the chairs is all in my personal taste.
Bubble chair is for sure on my want list as well. Love all the design pieces from Aarnio.
Oh, and of course Le Corbusier Lc4- chair(under the stairs). Have been No1 on my list for some time now.
Finally, I do not live in a open- planned house. It´s an old house and quite small, but I love it!
In the same breath I dream about a modern house with very few walls. So there is definitely mixed feelings here.

  7. I like semi-open plans. Like the 3rd image as opposed to the 2nd. I still like feeling as if I am in somewhat of a seperate space by using large openings instead of no walls at all.
    Great Pics!
